I hope that somebody from Pavia, Iloilo can tell me why Fr.Policarpio Minayo did not finish the building of Sta. Monica and I am also interested to know if what year he was transferred to Patnongon Antique as a Parish priest. I found out recently that he was my great-great grandfather he is the father Maria(my great grandma), Fernanda and Jose Minayo all of Patnongon Antique. All information regarding Fr. Minayo is appreciated. Thank you.

The lead title of this article reads “Parish of St. Therese of Avila (Anini-y, Antique)” but the picture and the accompanying article says otherwise. The church in the picture is that of the Parish Church of St. John Nepomuceno in Anini-y town proper. The Church of the Parish of St. Therese of Avila is located in Barangay Casay, a coastal Barangay 10 km. east of Anini-y town proper. I should know, I am from Casay.

Hello all! I am from the U.S. I was here not to long ago in Lambunao visiting my fiancee. I really enjoyed visiting here and can’t wait to visit again. OH, I had my pic taken in front of this church also w/my future in-laws. It was also interesting to read the history of this church. Thanks for the history lesson.
